"From when I started learning to play golf at 18 until now, and I am 58, I have never broken a 100 for 18 holes. But on this day I am honored to say I shot a round of 89. Wow!
"I never in my wildest dreams this would happen to me. Finnally a book like yours actually works. Your book is awesome! Please use my story."
-Terry Giovanoni
"For many years I have been searching for the keys to unlock my success as a player. The Mental Keys has helped me learn how to manage my emotions on the course, set goals and follow through, and practice effectively. As a coach I now understand that a positive mental approach is a requirement to improve your golf."
"My goal is to begin consistently introducing my junior athletes to your text. It's the missing piece I need to get into their heads and change they way they think about golf. I feel that I understand the science behind the golf swing, but mentally I was lost as a coach."
"Thank you for your efforts in writing that book,"
-Jake Sandusky
PGA Golf Coach
"I teach guys and girls everyday 7 days a week and hardly a lesson goes by where I don't use something from The Mental Keys. Last year my three high school seniors I teach all received golf scholarships. Two of the three won their district tournaments.
"This year my two seniors won their district tournaments. My senior girl has 15 college golf scholarship offers and again every lesson with her we use some aspect from The Mental Keys. She has the mind set that she has a 2-3 shot lead before everyone tees off because of her superior mental game. There are several good golf instructors, but what sets me apart from the others is the mental game. The success of my high school students speaks for itself."
-Coach Humphries
"Thank you again for the great job you do in preparing
us to play our best on the golf course. Your book and CD
have continued to help me stay focused and play better golf.
"In the past,
it was only a dream of breaking par. After using your materials
and following your advice to "keep polishing the wheel,"
I have broken par several times. Thank you for making this
dream a reality."
- Robert Pickle
"Before reading
your book my great rounds were in the high 70's (that was
fairly rare). Since ingraining your methods, my whole game has changed
for the better, MUCH BETTER. Now, my good rounds are in
the low 70's and my great rounds are mid to high 60's.
"Truly, the
only thing that changed was that I read your book. I always
recommend you to playing partners, but some just don't get
it, they think they need to change the hardware when it's
the software that needs upgrading." THANKS
SO MUCH and God Bless,
-Rodger R McRae
"It has been
almost a year since we adopted your book, "The
Mental Keys to Improve Your Golf" as our text book for
our Psychology of Golf class. I must tell you that I
have never had so many good comments on a book.
"The students
like the simple straight forward way it is written. They
see the practicality of it and they are able to put principles
to work in their golf games. Personally, since I teach the
class, I am always 'polishing the wheel' as you say as I read
and lecture from your book.
"I really
believe that the more aspiring golf professionals at our
school are passing their PGA Playability Tests as a result
of what they learned in the class through the study and application
of your book.
"I would
certainly recommend it to anyone wishing to improve their
golf game."

"I think you've
just hit a Home Run. I've listened to your CD everyday
since I received it. It's already helped. This is taking me
deeper than your book and I review that daily.Michael,
I thought I had this "Mental Keys" thing down. Your
CD takes it to a deeper level.
"My past background
was in Television and Radio Advertising and I'm getting to
the point where I can say what you say. I'm starting to hear
my voice and not yours telling me about the Mental Keys. That's
when I know it's starting to imprint on my tape.
"I'll use
this analogy with your CD in mind:
The First time you hear it. It just goes by you.
The Third time you can recall a phrase or two.
The Fifth time I can tell you all about your "tape"
and it's job.
The Seventh time I'll tell you about Watching the Club hit
the Ball
The Ninth time it's about Negative Thinking is for weak individuals.
The Twelfth time and it's getting to be a little old and stale.
That's OK because that's when it's really starting to sink
in.
"When I say
Hamburgers what do you think of? How about Beer? Both
McDonald's and Budweiser are Number 1 in their respective
fields. Why do they need to keep on advertising? To keep the
customer's tape current and in that comfort zone. The same
prinicple works with your CD and listening to it.
"I plan to
keep on using your CD until I wear it out. When that happens
I plan to buy another copy.
"I talk about
you and the mental side of golf to students and fellow golfers
all the time. Very few of them take the mental side seriously.
They're too worried about swing mechanics. That's fine. The
money I win from them has paid for your Book and CD over and
over. Keep up the great work!"

"I am writing
to let you know that golfers at my home club could not understand
how my golf has improved overtime. I played two weeks ago
in Medal competition at my home club, my playing partners
commented, how confident I have become, 'you are playing so
well and we are waiting for the wheel
to come off.' I just laughed and shot 71.
"Week later
I played for my handicap reassessment, shot 65, 68, and 68,
as my club could not handicapped me below 5, I have been given
a 6 hcap dropped from 11. Thanks for your book I
have managed to drop my handicap from 11 to 6, I was expecting
1 or 2 handicap.
"I am absolutely
confident by the end of summer it will drop to where I want
it to be as I will be playing numerous medal competitions.
I have recommended your book to the pros at my home club.
"Further more
I did travel to Spain last week in order to test myself at
the golf course where the Spanish open will be played next
month, the course is par 70 and SSS in 72.4 shot 70 Monday
and 72 on Wednesday last week.
"Thanks
for writing this magical book. I read the book every two
weeks."

A
review of Michael Anthony's "The Mental Keys to Improve
Your Golf Game" by Karin & Andy of Golf-equipment-advisor.com
With Mental Keys, Michael Anthony a respected mental coach
has not merely pumped out yet another mental publication into
an already over-saturated market. No, Mr. Anthony's Mental
Keys can be described as an exceptional approach which puts
a highly complex system into an easy to learn step by step
system. It is quite simply one of the most complete, detailed,
and precise guides to improve the mental skills in Golf and
in Life that I've ever seen.
What makes it so
much different than other mental skills improvement publications
on the market?
Mostly, it's the
concentration of each and every element of successful mental
constitution. It is a detailed step by step approach of all
elements which influence the mental side of a Golfer. With
Mental Keys, you'll learn more than the contents of an entire
bookshelf of mainstream mental improvement and selfhelp publications
down at your local bookstore.
Did you know that
Golf is 90% mental and the fastest way to lower your score
is to improve your mental game?
I knew that the
mental part of the Golf Game is quite important but I did
not realize how important it is, before I read Michael Anthony's
book. Off course, first you need a sound technique. But once
you mastered the basics you will improve much faster with
the right mental attitude.
Michael explains
why and how to change the emotional and mental patterns that
are costing you strokes and holding you back.
"The Mental
Keys" mental golf training program explains how your
emotions instantly affect your brain's chemistry and performance.
This insight is extremely valuable for you to clearly understand
and incorporate into your mental game because during practice
you are relaxed. But when you play a round of Golf and your
emotional state changes, it becomes impossible to duplicate
the same relaxed stroke you had while practicing because your
brain's chemistry changes and throws your game off.
This might all
sound impossibly complicated right now, but Michael does a
nice job of explaining everything thoroughly.
What I liked most
and what I apply on each round of Golf is Michael's four step
routine after a shot. The four amazingly simple steps help
me to relax and improve my concentration for the next steps.
The steps take a little bit of training but they're an important
step to a lower score.
Who will benefit
most from Michael Anthony's "The Mental Keys"?
All Golfers, managers,
people who want to improve the quality of their lifes. Do
you suffer from any kind of Yips? Are you afraid of sinking
a 1 foot put? You will greatly benefit from the Mental Keys.
Bottom line?
"The Mental
Keys" is simple, but it's not easy. It requires dedication
and a lot of hard work to implement it. You might have
to read the book several times and to listen to the CD before
and after each round of Golf. But the reward is worth every
effort, you learn how to quickly regroup, relax, refocus and
lower your score.
I took me around
three weeks to understand the concept and a month to implement
the four steps into my game (by listening to the CD). With
the input from Michael Anthony's Mental Keys I can tap the
full potential and play significantly more rounds in the 70s.
If you are serious
about lowering your score and about having more fun on the
Golf course we highly recommend this publication.

"Before
Mental Keys, I was always trying to find the right 'swing'
keys for each round and was constantly fooling with my swing
mechanics. I've taken lots of lessons and my swing looked
great on the practice range but I could never take my game
to the course. I was getting very frusterated. I've read just
about everything I could find on the mental game but it helped
little.
"Now, using
your Mental Keys program, I've lowered my scores from high
80s / low 90s to low 80s / high 70s. I recently scored my
record best round of 74. You don't know how much of a relief
it is to just swing and not worry about all the mechanical
parts of my swing. I ask myself often, "Who is this guy
making these shots?
"My game has
improved so much that my brother, just purchased your program
as well. He usually just scoffs at all the new discoveries
(mental, mechanical, equipment) I used to enlighten him with.
"Your program
is a life saver. Well worth 100 times the cost. I wish
I would have found it sooner but I guess I just wasn't ready
to find it then."

During my 30+ years
teaching 'Golf' I have truly identified, learned and applied
the core issues of the "Mechanical and Mental'. I have
worked with some very good thinkers and practitioners. Mike
is the best "Mental Side Man' I know anywhere. 'The
Mental Keys' is his 100 page best seller. If you don't have
it, get it! If you have read it once, read it once a week!

"I
learned about "The Mental Keys" while shopping on
the web. (Over the past 3 years I have purchased every book,
tape, video I could find related to Golf's mental game)
"I liked
it so much that after I read it, I immediately gave it to
my daughter (a college golfer) and ordered another copy for
myself.
"I feel you
should promote the fact that the "Mental Keys" actually
explains (very simply by the way) HOW to think properly on
the golf course. All of the other material I've seen regarding
the mental game tells what to do, but not much explanation
on HOW to do it.
"Also: Your
method of setting, prioritizing, and tracking goals is the
best I've ever seen at any Golf, Sport, Business, or Succes
training.
"I have a
lot of friends and associates that coach various sports. I'm
certainly going to promote your material to them.
"I've already
looked at most of your "Mental Tips" on the website
- Superb!"

"Hi
Michael. I am soooo thrilled right now...I'm going to relish
in the moment for a few days for sure! I am just so pleased
with the effort and getting the full card like I wanted. (Nancy
had just qualified for the LPGA tour).
"I
truly felt that my phone discussion with you was a major benefit.
It helped to clear my mind and get a few mental issues off
my chest, so to speak. You were a great sounding board and
I needed to feel as though somebody was listening.
"I
would definitely give your mental keys book the thumbs up; I believe the information in the book, as well as the discussion
on the phone, all contributed to the good mindset I had at
Q school. I felt a level of calm and comfort that I previously
hadn't felt. I continue to work on the mental side of the
game as I feel it is the most crucial part to playing well
consistently".
-Thanks again. Nancy Harvey, LPGA

"I
have finally managed to break 100. TWICE! Not only that
but I am consistently in the 100-105 scoring range. More importantly,
I am enjoying my golf more than I have ever done"
-John Taylor, November

"I have
done it. A sub 90 round. I had an 89 on my home course
today and I wasn't even playing well. To think, before the
Mental Keys I couldn't break 100"

"I'm
an avid reader of sports psychology books. This is as good
or better than all the other stuff out there, including
Rotella, Patrick Cohen and Michael Murphy. All the sports
psychology books tell you what to do, but not necessarily
why to do it - your book bridged the gap."

"I
am an 11 handicap, however I never play competitively, basically
for fun. The love of Golf has led me to prepare for the future
and seek a Golf Teaching Certification.
"To make a long story short, I recently passed my
Player Ability Test with the United States Golf Teachers Fedeartion with exactly the score that was needed to pass.
"YES, the techniques I've learned from your book were
used continuously. Feedback, Relaxation, Preparation and Focus,
and then Execution.
"I stayed in the present with each shot, not worrying
about the outcome, but I must say, as I was getting down to
my last nine, and then the final holes, it was tough, and I'm not sure if I would've been able to maintain my focus
if I hadn't read "The Mental Keys." I did use your
techniques and it worked.
"I knew I was ready physically for the challenge being
an 11 handicap, however I was on the borderline and I needed
that "mental" edge to allow me to achieve my goal,
which I did.
"Since I have been and always will be a big believer
in the "mental aspects" of living, whether it be
in business or sports, I will continue to pass on your information
to all those in need. Thanks again!"
-Alan V. Brown

"I
am a 5 handicap player. My goal is to reduce my handicap to
1 by the end of 2002. I have been reading material on the
mental side for a while now, as I realised that I was lacking
in this department. I brought Mental Keys to gain a
different perspective on the mental side. And it is the
most direct and helpfull material I have read."

"At nearly
age 64, I had nearly resigned myself to think I was through
shooting low scores. It has only been 3 weeks since your book
arived. In that short space of time my handicap has gone from
7 to 5,and today I shot my first even par round (72) in
20 YEARS! I never had the knowledge of how to focus and
stay in the moment til I read your priceless book. No more
thinking of the outcome, (sure doom for a good round). It's
now the PROCESS, which enables me to play one shot at a time.
Thank you so much."
-Ken Kozlin
"I have subscribed
to your monthly newsletters and have read your Great Book
several times. Thanks so much for lowering my handicap
to date by 12 strokes. I will continue to read it religiously."

"I feel this
has been my best season ever in the 35 years I have played
Golf! I attribute this to 2 things....firstly your book! It
does give all the answers one could look for in order to take
the big step....winning! And also to my swing coach, Wayne
Scissio from Golf Tech!
"I played
in 11 tournaments. I have one first place, one second, one
third and one fourth. Something
that happened late this season for me was incredible! When
I must save a par or must hit a shot with extreme difficulty....I
do! Man....that is so wonderful....to clear your mind
of the "what if" scenario! All I do now is get my
set up correct, make the best effort I can and accept whatever
I am left with! It is magic!
"Thanks
Partner for that gift! May God continue to bless you in
your efforts to help others!"

"I think so
many people not just golf professionals could benefit from
your book. You have done a tremendous service to those that
have the determination to change. There is no doubt that
the mental keys work, if you use them. Thank you very
much."

"A coaches
dream! As a college golf coach, I highly recommend this
book for all golfers. I have worked with golfers of all ability
levels and realize that the mental training to golf is as
important if not more important than the act of practice.
The Mental Keys gives the golfer a foundation to improve on
the mental side of the game. I know that any golfer who
reads this book and follows the program will improve greatly! I highly, highly recommend this book for any one who wants
to improve their golf game."
-Brian Ammann
Men's Golf Coach

"The worst
part of my game is mental: getting down on myself, doubt,
fear, self-induced pressure, etc. And improving beyond a 9
HCP seemed impossible. However, I didn't just read your book,
I studied it and stepped up practices to include precise areas
to improve. I envisioned several times a day at work, in my
car, and in the evening relaxing, perfectly hit balls flying
to my target...dropping long putts, etc.
"After finishing
your book, I practiced that night (again)...and the next evening,
Thursday, I stepped out on the course determined to mentally
control myself thru the round. I shot a 76. The occasional
good round, I thought. Then that Sat, shot a 77 on a course
I never played before. Luck, I said to my buddies. On Sunday,
another 77. On Tuesday night a 76. The next day on Wed (yesterday),
during a unit tournament, I shot yet another 77. What a week
of golf for me. My handicap index is down to a 7.1 and will
probably drop to a 6 with another good round.
"I'm sure
my intense practices over the last few weeks helped, but I
have to admit--and I was skeptical--that 'The Mental Keys
to Improve Your Golf' has apparently helped me a lot. My scores
have never been this consistent and I seem better able to
focus and recover from poor shots without wrecking my entire
round. The last 77 score included two careless doubles
on the front for a 41. I recognized the lapses and refocused
without ruining my round--to shoot even par on the back. Three
weeks ago, those two doubles would have lead me mentally to
the normal 80-86 range of scores.
"Thanks for
your well written book. It was clear, concise, and an easy
read; surprisingly full of common sense that we all know,
but don't think about in an organized manner as you presented
it. It will never find its way to my room of old books, because it is now my mental bible. I will continue to study it. Moreover, I'm going to tell some other people about it
as well. Thanks for your help. It was worth the $30."

"Here is an update
of my progress with your book. I have now read it twice
and the results speak for themselves. I'm
now unbeaten in my last 4 team matches and shot 69 scratch
in my championship qualifying medal at the weekend. Even though
I started with three straight bogeys, I kept smiling and didn't
worry about where my score was going. I didn't put myself
under pressure by worrying about getting pars or birdies.
"I stood tall and
walked confidently and didn't let any negative thoughts into
my happy head. I looked at the trees and the birds, chatted
with my playing partners and felt great. I only thought about
the process and not the outcome. Sure enough after those three
opening bogeys, ended played my remaining 15 holes in 4 under
par. I have no doubt it's all thanks to your book. So simple,
yet so effective.
"I do realize
I have a long way to go because it's so easy to slip out of
the zone as the week before. I was playing for my team and
thanks to my positive thoughts or should I say your book I
was 5 up after 9. But, I lost control and slipped out of my
zone. The guy won 3 holes on the trot. What had happened was
that I started thinking about winning the match easily and
thought about the outcome. Fortunately, I realized what had
happened and managed to steer my thoughts back to the present
and eventually won 3 and 2.
"Thanks again
for showing me the light and pointing me towards the winners
podium. I'd be honored to have my name used. Cheers,"

"This book
is a MUST HAVE... if you want to improve your golf game
or even to help improve your business! Our mind is a very
powerful piece of equipment (we don't even have to pay for
it) and most people don't use it to their full potential.
People will spend $$$$ in buying new clubs that "may" work
better or taking lots of lessons on the mechanics, BUT they
never tap into the potential they have to improve their Mental
thoughts!!
"All my life,
I have made it a habit to read as many positive thinking or
motivational books as I can. I've learned ALOT from "The Mental
Keys", and continue to do so. I highly recommend this book
to everyone! I am an LPGA Professional and know the Keys
in this book will help me reach the NEXT level.
"I also am
recommending it to ALL my students that I give lessons to.
What good is a good swing, if you don't have the Mental Edge
to keep you in the "zone" when you're playing well, or to
GET you in the "zone" when you're on the bogie train?!?! Do
yourself a favor and read this book. Spend as much time training
your MIND as you do practicing your physical shots! Plus,
signing up for Michael's FREE weekly email newsletter is an
added benefit!"

"I bought
this book for my team during our spring season. We have
continually improved with each tournament since we began reading
the book. One 'idea' that has really caught on with our
team is 'Desire without action equals WISH.' We have been
working very hard on positive actions and thoughts and it
is paying off. We leave Saturday for the NCAA Golf Championships
in Florida. Thank you Michael!"

"I recommend
this book to anyone who wants to improve their golf game! A golfer of any level can benefit from this book. The Mental
Keys focuses on mastering the process which leads to reaching
your own specific goals. Many of us are too worried about
the outcome. Michael's four-step routine is a process that
allows you to stay in the present and learn from your past
experiences. I have incorporated this into my own game and
have become more consistent."

"My game has been

"Mike, just a note
to let you know that your book, Mental Keys is Fantastic! I have been using the book over the last few months and each
time I re-read it my scores go down. I know there has
to be a point where I can't go any lower, but getting to that
point is an exciting challenge. Thanks for the book."

"For the past 6
months your book has had a direct impact on my team and
my life. As a coach and administrator with a Masters in
Psychology, I have read and studied many approaches to the
psychology of sport and more importantly, the psychology of
success. I can honestly say that The Mental Keys have helped
me define my approach to everyday circumstances in easy to
understand terms and actions.

"Michael, I want
to share with you that I won my club's Spring Championship this past weekend. Shot 67-72 to win by 6 shots. The
thing that has helped me most is the idea of staying in the
present and focusing on the process and not on the outcome."
-Glen Kirk

"It was about 3
months ago that I discovered your web site. I must have read
and re-read the articles in your archive of mental tips for
5 straight days. I decided to make a very strong effort to
concentrate on the process (i.e., preshot routine) in my next
round. I still did not hit the ball that well that day, but
I shot 71.
"A few weeks ago,
I played my first tournament of the year (here in the Philippines).
During the practice rounds I knew I still was not hitting
the ball well, but for some reason it didn't bother me at
all. So during the tournament proper, I played each shot
of equal importance, concentrated on the process never the
outcome - I placed 7th in a field of 400. I still didn't
hit the ball as well as I would have liked, but I played the
game the way it was meant to be played. I am really looking
forward to reading your book in full. Regards,"

"I highly recommend
this book to anyone that wants to lower their golf scores
and achieve their goals. The Mental Keys main focus is on
'The Success Model'. This model is a combination of some of
the great teachings passed on throughout time, as well as
cutting edge discoveries about the mind/body connection and
the brain's chemistry.
" As complex
as this subject might be, Michael Anthony's simple and common
sense approach will produce great results. I believe this
process of thinking will benefit anyone with strong desire
to succeed. It's helping me elevate my game to play on
the PGA tour. It can help you too!"

"Its the
best $30 I have ever spent. My goal in 2000 was to try
to become the State Senior Golfer of the year, however,
after reading your Mental Keys my whole goal structure changed.
In the past I had always found myself to be results oriented
and had some problems with the outcome. I played well on the
first one or two days of the tournament, but, when the final
day came I put so much pressure on my results that I would
fade from the lead and fall to second. third or worse.
"After reading Mental Keys (actually it is now my study guide)
I worked with my PGA pro on the mechanics of the game with
definite goals in mind. I also worked with a personal trainer,
three days a week, and after hundreds of hours of practice
and months of physical and flexibility conditioning I found
that my golf game had improved tremendously. The mental game
now became my driving force. I completely stopped being concerned
with the results. It was now a battle - an all out war with
my tape- and in 2000 I won the war.
"As you know
I was fortunate to win the State Senior Player of the year
against a very strong field which included a player who had
won the last 4 years. However there is more to the story.
At the beginning of the last tournament of the year the Executive
Director of the State Golf Assn. advised me that if I won
this tournament I would also have accumulated enough points
to become the overall State Player of the year.
"Talk about
pressure. My tape and I had a little discussion and I took
control and won the tournament by 5 shots. Only twice in
92 years has one person won both awards and it was done
in 2000 by a guy who only tried to play one shot at a time
and let the results just happen. Thanks again".
